New clients that have not yet delegated their domain name to one of the Red Rook we servers can view their website before the DNS records propogate by visiting secure.controldomain.com/yourdomainname
eg secure.controldomain.com/redrook.com
Alternatively:
If you have a Windows machine then add an entry for your host to the hosts file (usually with no file extension). This text file is located in your WINDOWS directory on Windows 95/98, in your \WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\ directory on Win NT and Windows 2000 and in /etc on Unix.
Simply add a line with the IP address (for the Red Rook Server you are to be hosted on, and your domain name separated by either a tab or a space. eg At the end of the hosts file add a line similar to:
203.17.208.126 www.yourdomainname.com
Remember to remove this entry after a few days when the records should be on your local DNS server. Note that this will not allow you to test mail.
If you have difficulties, contact Red Rook Technical Support for your current IP address of your newly hosted domain.
